Inner Provision, Outer Contentment

1 Timothy 6:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Timothy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1 Timothy 6:7-8

Biblical Context

We come into the world with nothing and can take nothing out; if we have food and clothes, we should practice contentment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your Bible speaks in the language of appearances, yet in truth the world you call external is a field of your own consciousness. 'We brought nothing into this world' and 'we can carry nothing out' reveal that earthly wealth is not a possession you acquire, but a condition you awaken. The I AM, your awareness, is the only real source; food, raiment, and even poverty or plenty are movements within that inner life. When you acknowledge that Providence is already providing within you, you shift from fear to rest. Do not seek to add by grasping objects, but by enlarging the sense of sufficiency in your own being. In practice, imagine the feeling of being sustained now, and treat any lack as a mistaken register of your state. The humble man in you is simply the clear receiver of inner abundance, not a beggar before chance. So contentment arises not from hoarding, but from knowing the I AM provides, and that the outer world follows the inner conviction of sufficiency.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: in a quiet moment, picture yourself already fed and clothed, then declare 'I AM provision' as your true identity.
