Inner Wealth 1 Timothy 6:4-10

1 Timothy 6:4-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Timothy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:4-10

Biblical Context

The passage exposes prideful disputes and the love of money. It says true gain comes from godliness with contentment, since we bring nothing into the world and can take nothing out.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider how the verse presents a state of consciousness, not a social fault alone. The quarrels and the claim that gain is godliness arise from a restless mind, a belief that external wealth can define us. But true wealth is found where I AM remains content, for godliness with contentment is great gain, and the body follows the inner order. We brought nothing into this world and carry nothing out, so the only lasting possession is the steady consciousness that I AM provides. If I dwell in gratitude for food and raiment as symbols of inner sufficiency, supply arises as a natural expression of that inner state. The temptation to chase riches is a lure of fear; God is not outside but within, the I AM that makes all things appear. When I withdraw from the mental disputes and refuse to elevate lack, I align with the unchanging law of supply. Wealth, then, is not a number but the consistency of an inner heaven where I am content, and faith can operate with calm certainty rather than frantic grasping.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of being fully supplied—'I AM content; I have all I need.' Close your eyes, imagine a scene where your needs are met and gratitude fills you, and dwell there for a few minutes as if it were already true.
