Believing Masters, Serving Light
1 Timothy 6:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Timothy 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Those who have believing masters should not despise them but serve them as brethren, because they are faithful and beloved, sharing in the benefits.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your life is a field where inner states become outer experiences. When you find yourself under what you call a master—an inner authority, discipline, or guiding principle—do not reject it or resist. Instead, treat that master as a fellow traveler, a brother in the one I AM, faithful and beloved, and render service to it with a grateful heart. This is not subservience to an external ruler but an alignment of consciousness. By honoring the role of that inner master, you unify your will with the truth it embodies, and you partake in the benefits—clarity, stability, and harmony—that flow from faithful co-operation. The exhortation becomes a law of your inner life: obedience to and reverence for the guiding states within you cultivate the very conditions you seek outside. As you discipline your mind to serve these inner beacons, you discover that separation dissolves and your world reflects your renewed unity of purpose.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and affirm, 'I serve my believing masters with gratitude, for we are one in the I AM.' Then picture these inner authorities as bright brethren guiding you, and feel the benefits begin to unfold.
