The Deacon's Bold Faith
1 Timothy 3:13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Timothy 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Those who faithfully fulfill the deacon's office gain a good degree and greater boldness in the faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
To use the office of a deacon well is to render service as a state of consciousness. The 'good degree' you purchase is not a title in the world, but an inner elevation won by faithful practice, a refined bearing that comes from aligning with the Good. 'Great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus' is the inner certainty of the I AM—the Christ within—unshaken by outward appearances. When you serve in consciousness, you practice the law that imagination creates reality: you imagine yourself as capable, trusted, and effective, and that inner scene grows into outer conditions of confidence and grace. The act of service becomes a discipline that elevates your sense of self and your rapport with the Divine. So, as you move through your day, dwell in the assumption that you already possess this inner office: you are faithful, bold, and connected to the Christ within, and your world will reflect that inner fulfillment.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume, now, that you are the deacon in service to your inner life; feel the good degree as a present fact and let bold faith in Christ within fill you. Then act on one small service in your day from that inner state, maintaining the feeling until it becomes your habitual awareness.
