Adam was not deceived; Eve’s deception led to transgression.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville Goddard perspective, this line discloses two inner states of consciousness. Adam stands for the unshakable I AM, the awareness that cannot be misled by appearances. The woman who is deceived embodies a moment when mind identifies with a belief of separation from God, a belief that takes on reality in place of truth. The transgression then is not a moral penalty laid on God, but an inner misalignment that arises when we forget our oneness and accept a story as truth. When Eve is deceived, the inner world shifts, and life seems to reflect that error. The cure is to return to the one state: I AM. Assume the truth of your real identity and revise the story you are living until it feels real. As you feel it real, obedience and faithfulness to your inner I AM replace the old belief; the outward scene—family, marriage, duties—will rearrange to reflect the restored inner kingdom. In short, the fall is a shift in consciousness; the remedy is a deliberate inner alignment with the I AM, felt as real until it outer-shines.
Practice This Now
Practice: close your eyes, declare 'I AM the truth of my being now' and imagine Eve's deceived state dissolving into light; revise the scene to demonstrate unwavering I AM.
