Pattern of Inner Longsuffering

1 Timothy 1:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Timothy 1 in context

Scripture Focus

16Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1 Timothy 1:16

Biblical Context

Paul says he received mercy so that Jesus might reveal longsuffering as a pattern for those who believe, guiding them toward life everlasting.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scripture the pervading mercy is not a distant event but a shift of your inner state. I AM consciousness awakens to recognize that Jesus Christ—the inner demonstration of the Christ within—shows forth longsuffering to all who will believe in it. Longsuffering is the texture of awareness when fear and time-bound resistance yield to the unalterable flow of life. The pattern is not a person but a position of consciousness you cultivate until others, by what they inwardly witness, are drawn to believe on him—i.e., to believe in life everlasting as a present experience. When you perceive mercy as your own uncaused, creative act, you align with the eternal I AM; you stop testing reality with external proof and begin living the verity that imagination creates. Your sustained patience becomes the form through which Reality manifests salvation here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am mercy; I am longsuffering.' Feel the Christ within awaken, and imagine a situation in your life resolving through patience, as if life everlasting is already here.
