Becoming Faithful by Inner Mercy
1 Timothy 1:12-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Timothy 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul thanks Christ Jesus for enabling him in the ministry, acknowledging his past as a blasphemer and persecutor, which mercy transformed. The mercy came through ignorance and unbelief, and grace was abundant with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the scene not as history but as your own inner state. Paul speaks as you, the I AM that stands behind every action. When he says Christ Jesus enabled him and counted him faithful, hear this as your inner acknowledgment: the moment you align with the I AM, you are put into the ministry of your own consciousness—a service to truth rather than to appearances. The record of being a blasphemer, persecutor, injurious is not to condemn you but to reveal that the old self disappears when grace enters. Mercy is not earned by works; it is the shifting of belief from separation to unity, from unbelief to the certainty that you already are loved, supported, and empowered. The phrase 'the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus' tells you that grace multiplies as you live in faith and dwell in love, not as a demand but as a natural consequence of awareness. Your inner ministry is simply the activity of consciousness acting through you when you assume the I AM is counting you faithful.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, and assume you are already in the ministry of your true self. Say to yourself, I am counted faithful; I am enabled by Christ Jesus; grace is abundant in faith and love within me; feel the truth as a present reality.
