Inner Tribulation, Inner Triumph

1 Thessalonians 3:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Thessalonians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

4For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
1 Thessalonians 3:4

Biblical Context

Paul explains that while with them he warned they would face tribulation, and that warning came true. The message is that hardship is part of the path, not a mistake to be avoided.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this line you are told in advance that tribulation will arise, and the import is not a punishment but a signal to shift your state. The 'we told you before' is an inner memory you carry—the awareness that your inner world commands what seems to happen. Tribulation appears when your old self resists the good you intend; it is the friction that precedes change. See it as the echo of a playground of your mind, not a decree from without. If you insist on seeing it as objective reality, you feed it; if you revise, you still the mind’s storm by assuming a new state. Therefore, imagine that you have already passed through the trial by resting in the truth that you are one with the Life that perseveres. Hold that inner alignment and the external appearances will align with it. You are not suffering; you are becoming fully conscious of the power you always are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already in the state that endures no tribulation. Feel calm rising and revise fear into faith as if it is real now.
