Inner Establishment in Trials
1 Thessalonians 3:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Thessalonians 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul explains he could not endure staying longer and sends Timothy to establish and comfort the Thessalonians’ faith. He warns that afflictions may move people, but they are appointed to endure them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Suppose you could not bear the sense of separation any longer, and you allow your inner self to send forth Timotheus—the faithful minister of God within you—to establish and comfort your faith. In this story, afflictions are not real enemies but appearances within your dream; the I AM you awaken to is the real you. When you accept that you are appointed to this experience, you stop resisting the outward motion and rest in the conviction that your faith is not fragile but a state of consciousness you can reaffirm. The inner Timotheus is your own discernment, counsel, and assurance that the divine purpose for you is steady, that no impression can move you from your center. Therefore, the command that no man should be moved by these afflictions becomes a declaration of your state: you are fixed in the presence of God, unmoved by changing circumstances. As you identify with this I AM, you discover the world’s appearances are dreams, and you awaken to steadiness, purpose, and witness.
Practice This Now
Sit comfortably and imagine Timotheus—the inner minister of God—entering your mind to establish your faith and comfort you; then affirm, 'I am established in faith, unmoved by appearances.'
