Imparting Soul and Gospel

1 Thessalonians 2:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Thessalonians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

8So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
9For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:8-9

Biblical Context

The verse shows a tender willingness to give more than words - to impart the gospel and one's very soul. It also emphasizes laboring to support others without becoming burdensome.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your inner life, the 'they' are states of consciousness called affection and willingness. The passage whispers: I am willing to impart not only the gospel but also my own soul, because you are dear unto us. This is not a memory to be archived; it is an inner decision by the I AM to give the living Word from your felt self. The gospel of God is not mere doctrine about God; it is God-as-awareness, experienced here and now. To labor night and day without becoming a burden is to prove that supply resides in consciousness. When you preach the gospel, you announce that God is within and your labor is resting in that presence. The other feels more than instruction - they feel nourished by your soul. Love becomes action: the soul pours itself out so the other awakens to their own divine nature through your steady witness. Remember: you are the channel, the vessel, through which the inner gospel walks into the world.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your chest, and declare I AM willing to impart not only the gospel but my own soul, then imagine an exchange of life between you and another, feeling your supply as eternally abundant.
