Always Giving Thanks Within
1 Thessalonians 1:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Thessalonians 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul and his companions continually thank God for the Thessalonians and mention them in their prayers.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this line, the Thessalonians are not distant people but a state of consciousness I acknowledge as real. 'We give thanks to God always' expresses my daily practice of assuming the I AM consciously grateful for the good in every person who enters my life. 'for you all' is the recognition that each entity is an image within my mind, invited into my inner sanctuary by appreciation. 'making mention of you in our prayers' becomes the steady habit of naming the favorable traits I desire to see and addressing them in the inner dialogue I hold with God. Prayer, in this sense, is revision, not petition: I feel the reality of already possessing the good and let that feeling reform my relationships, my world, and my sense of self. In this inner economy, gratitude becomes presence of God and the unity I seek with all.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and, in gratitude, name someone you wish to include in your prayers. Imagine you are speaking to the I AM within, saying, 'Thank you for their wholeness now,' and feel that truth until it becomes your lived experience.
