Inner Court Of Judgment
1 Samuel 8:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Samuel 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Samuel's sons did not walk in his ways; they pursued lucre, took bribes, and warped judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Observe that the scene is not a distant moral tale but an inner court within every mind. The 'sons' symbolize states of consciousness that worship outward wealth and status. When the inner court tilts toward lucre, it sells out truth for surface advantage, and decisions lose integrity, becoming 'perverted' by fear, pride, or attachment. The bribes you fear or chase are seductive impressions promising security, popularity, or control, swaying discernment away from the timeless I AM that knows you as awareness. Read it as Neville would: the outer world reflects the tone of the inner courtroom. If you identify with the urge for material gain, you will misjudge what is right, just as the biblical sons misjudged. But you can undo it by assuming a different state of consciousness—the awareness that you are the I AM, unlimited, and that justice flows from that inner seat. When you revise, you stop reacting to appearances and allow true, peaceful judgment to govern you, so wealth serves truth rather than corrupting it.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I AM the I AM; I judge right now.' Then imagine a sunlit inner court where a calm I AM renders verdicts with clarity, and see money flowing as energy serving truth.
