Ark Within: Presence and Pressure
1 Samuel 5:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Samuel 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The ark is sent to Ekron, and the Ekronites cry out that the God of Israel has brought plague on them; fearing death and destruction, the Philistines decide to return the ark to its own land.
Neville's Inner Vision
The ark represents the I AM presence within your consciousness. Ekron symbolizes a mind conditioned by fear and external power, where the sense of God as other than you creates heaviness and calamity. The deadly destruction mirrors inner disturbances that arise when you resist the truth of your own divinity. The Philistines’ cry and demand to release the ark reflect the habitual mind trying to eject uncomfortable realizations rather than revise its assumptions. The inward law remains: awareness cannot be harmed by experience; what changes is your state of mind. By recognizing the ark as your own I AM, you invite a revision that invites the divine presence to remain, transforming fear into calm and heaviness into light. The outer events become a mirror of inner disbelief; the remedy is to assume and feel, in the present, that God is within and you are one with the God of Israel.
Practice This Now
Assume the ark is within you as the I AM. Close your eyes, say I AM THAT I AM, and feel the heaviness dissolve as you align with the inner Presence.
