Be Strong, Feel It Real

1 Samuel 4:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Samuel 4 in context

Scripture Focus

9Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.
1 Samuel 4:9

Biblical Context

The verse urges the Philistines to summon courage and act, promising deliverance through bold resolve. It frames strength as a decisive inner choice rather than mere external threat.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the word 'be strong' is not a command to the outer muscles, but a call to the I AM, your innermost awareness. The Philistine cry becomes your own resistance turning toward liberation when you assume the state of strength. To quit yourselves like men is to quit the old story of limitation and to revise it with the feeling of being already free. Hebrews symbolize programs of fear and servitude that have haunted your consciousness; the Hebrews-appearances are externalizations of inner doubt. The deliverance is not sought in outward battle but in the imagination you persist in occupying. If you dwell in the conviction 'I am the strength of God in this moment,' cessation of bondage occurs as your inner sun rises, drawing the outer scene to reflect the inner reality. Your imagination is the ark carrying power into your life; when you live from the conclusion of victory, the army you face dissolves into a new order of peace.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of strength now and imagine yourself free; repeat 'I AM strength' until the feeling of victory remains, then let that inner victory redraw your outer scene.
