1 Samuel 3:8-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Samuel 3 in context

Scripture Focus

8And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
9Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
1 Samuel 3:8-10

Biblical Context

Samuel keeps hearing the LORD call him. With Eli's guidance, he learns to respond Speak, for thy servant heareth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Samuel is not merely a boy; he is a state of awareness waking to its own voice. The LORD calling Samuel is the inner invitation of your I AM to realize its vocation. Eli is the old memory of doubt, guiding you to listen for the indwelling Word you already are. When Samuel says, Speak, for thy servant heareth, he is not obeying a person but aligning with the state that speaks through him. The call is not distant prophecy but your willingness to be directed by the quiet decision that you are already the I AM. Each call moves consciousness toward service, work, and fidelity to the new you who says, I serve awareness. To answer is to revise your sense of self until you welcome the inner Word speaking you into your true labor. Practice this now: assume you are already hearing and let the inner Voice instruct your next move, then observe how life follows the thought you welcomed as real.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, and pretend you are already hearing the inner invitation. Respond with Speak, LORD and feel the certainty of guidance in your next task.
