Flea Hunt and Inner Kingship

1 Samuel 26:20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Samuel 26 in context

Scripture Focus

20Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains.
1 Samuel 26:20

Biblical Context

David pleads that his blood not spill before the LORD, noting that Saul, the king of Israel, has come out to seek him like a flea, revealing the futility of such a chase.

Neville's Inner Vision

In your present consciousness you are the King of Israel the I AM that rules your inner land. The outer hunter is a fear born thought and the blood is the energy you would spill defending a drama that has no power over you. When you hear that the king is out to seek a flea you are being invited to see how small a thing can appear as a great threat when you do not know who you are. The partridge in the mountains stands for the mountains of your life rising images that seem to hunt you. Yet the truth remains you are the one who calls the shots in imagination. The LORD faces you in every moment; presence is not a distant event but the very flame of awareness. By assuming the attitude of the king you revoke the chase. Your inner state creates your outer scene; the pursuit dissolves as you dwell in the I AM and feel the reality of your sovereignty. Rest in the awareness that no force can diminish your divine birthright when seen from this inner throne.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of the I AM now; close your eyes and feel your inner throne. See the hunter vanish and the inner kingdom stillness remain.
