A Good Day Within

1 Samuel 25:5-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Samuel 25 in context

Scripture Focus

5And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name:
6And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast.
7And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel.
8Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.
1 Samuel 25:5-8

Biblical Context

David sends a peaceful message to Nabal, asking for blessing and provision, and affirms peace over his household and assets.

Neville's Inner Vision

Reading this as a states-of-consciousness teaching, David is the I AM in you sending emissaries—ten facets of attention—to Carmel, the fertile field of mind. Nabal represents the stubborn outer circumstance that seems to block abundance. When David speaks peace to you and to your house, he activates a consciousness of harmony that keeps your inner economy intact. The assertion that the shepherds were with us and suffered no loss shows that in your inner weather no rightful thing is harmed while awareness dwells in the place of supply. To ask that the young men be found favor is to decide to align inner dispositions with the reality you intend to live. We come in a good day marks an auspicious moment in imagination to receive; give what cometh to thy hand is the act of accepting the already imagined provision and offering it to the servant David, the conscious self that acts as giver and receiver. The result is a shift from pleading to presencing abundance now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and imagine dispatching ten quiet emissaries from your I AM to your inner Carmel; feel the house and fields filling with abundance, then rest in the feeling that peace and provision are yours now.
