Scripture Focus

22And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.
23And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
1 Samuel 16:21-23

Biblical Context

David comes before Saul as armourbearer and musician. His harp brings refreshment and relief, lifting the evil spirit.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 21-23 shows you your own inner drama as Saul's spirit and David as your cultivated state of consciousness. Saul's agitation is the stubborn mind; the 'evil spirit' is a belief you have separated from the I AM. David, the armourbearer, is your imagination—an ally of grace that stands with you, ready to serve your highest state. When you 'play' the harp, you are deliberately feeding the mind with a higher vibration—imagination choreographing relief, peace, and restoration. The favor Saul receives mirrors the favor you grant yourself by occupying a state of love and receptivity. This is true worship: aligning with a divine state that refreshes, heals, and liberates the mind from fear. The outward kindness Saul experiences reflects your inner harmony rising from within; as you dwell in the I AM and imaginative acts, the external world follows the new inner disposition.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume you stand before your own inner Saul, beloved by the I AM. Then play the harp in your imagination, feel the relief spreading, and hold the state until fear departs.
