Slaying Amalek Within
1 Samuel 15:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Samuel relays God's command to Saul to utterly destroy Amalek and all that they have, and Saul gathers the army and advances toward Amalek.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the call is not to conquer a nation but to purge the inner Amalek—the stubborn habits and dim beliefs that wait in the path of your rising awareness. The anointing of Saul represents your awakening to the I AM, the inner king who is to reign by listening to the voice of the Lord within. The Lord of hosts is the boundless power that activates when you attend to the inner command. To destroy what Amalek has is to release every attachment that feeds fear, pride, or separation, even the infantile patterns that cling to special-case thinking. When you slay Amalek, you are choosing the end of the alliance with limitation, not violence against others. Forget not the infant and suckling; these are tender beliefs that must be examined and surrendered. Counting the people is counting the faculties of mind; the valley is the arena where doubt lingers. The inner army rests only when obedience to the inner law is total, and the king within becomes your undeniable reality.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the inner command has already destroyed Amalek within you; revise lingering fears and feel the steady king arise as your true self.
