Inner Thunder and Harvest
1 Samuel 12:16-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Samuel 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Samuel declares a great sign God will perform; he calls on the Lord to send thunder and rain to show the people's wickedness in asking for a king, and the sign leads to fear and repentance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Stand with me in imagination, and hear that the great thing is not a future event but my inner shift. The people’s demand for a king reveals a state of consciousness seeking external rule. The thunder and rain are inner signs in my atmosphere, a storm that wakes me to the truth that I have trusted outward power while the real life dwells within the I AM. Samuel represents my higher self, calling God forth from the depths of my awareness; when I answer, the sign arrives and fear dissolves, for I realize that true obedience is alignment with the inner king. The fear and prayer I speak are the turning point: I acknowledge I have drifted, I repent, and I invite the I AM to reign. This is the miraculous demonstration—not changing others, but renewing my state of consciousness so God becomes my sole ruler.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the sign: you stand before the great thing God will do in you. Say, I am the I AM; I revise my state to align with the inner king and feel the rain dissolve separation.
