10And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
1 Samuel 1:10

Biblical Context

A woman is in bitterness of soul, and she prays and weeps before the LORD. This inner movement signals the soul's longing and its readiness to be spoken into by faith.

Neville's Inner Vision

Bitterness, in the sacred telling, is a state of consciousness longing to be moved into harmony with the I AM. The woman’s prayer is not a plea to an external God, but a turning of attention back to her own awareness and its infinite possibilities. When she prays and weeps, the emotion serves as a sign that a new alignment is sought: a shift from separation to union with the Presence that you are. The process is simple: dwell in the assumption that the desired good is already present in consciousness, and let the outer events follow the inner conviction. The Lord within responds as you refuse to identify with lack and hold the faith that hope and future are contained in the now. As you persist, fear loosens its grip, trust takes its place, and the future begins to bloom as a natural outcome of present awareness. Your suffering has become a signal to re-enter the I AM and to act from that wholeness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: For five minutes, assume the feeling of relief as if the petition is already granted. Revise the memory of bitterness by affirming 'I AM, and this presence answers now,' and feel it real in your chest.
