Inner Trials, Divine Glory
1 Peter 4:12-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Peter 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Peter tells believers not to be surprised by fiery trials. By embracing Christ's sufferings, they participate in a glory that will be revealed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, do not mistake your present pressure for a strange interruption. The fiery trial is not something happening to a separate you; it is a movement within your own consciousness, a stirring that exposes old beliefs and makes room for the I AM to reign. You are not being punished; you are becoming aware of your true nature, the Christ within, by consenting to the felt reality of your Yes. In this light, you partake of Christ's sufferings as you release the old self that clings to limitation. When you endure with inner calm, the glory of your higher Self is revealed, and you rise into a joy that goes beyond circumstance. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, take heart: the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. The outer voice may condemn, but your inward state is exalted and glorified. So, the fiery moments are invitations to awaken your consciousness to its own magnificence, not punishments to endure.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: I am the I AM, calm, joyous, and unshaken in every trial. Let this inner state revise the outward story and feel it real now.
