The Inner Cornerstone Within

1 Peter 2:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 2 in context

Scripture Focus

6Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1 Peter 2:6-8

Biblical Context

The passage presents a chief cornerstone laid in Zion, precious to believers who trust, while the disobedient stumble because they resist the word.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture the verse as a map of your inner landscape. The chief cornerstone is not a distant object but the I AM you awaken to in this moment. Zion stands as your living consciousness, the field where imagination plants its reality. To believe on this stone is to align your whole being with the truth that you are the creator of your experience; therefore, belief on him is precious, and you are not confounded by appearances because your awareness remains steady. The stone the builders disallowed becomes the head of the corner when you refuse to doubt the word that resonates as your own I AM. To those who stumble at the word, disobedience is simply the habit of resisting what you truly are. When you stop arguing with reality and return to the certainty of your inner conviction, the stumbling stone ceases to be a barrier and becomes a doorway. Your inner kingdom rises not by pleading with external facts but by assuming the truth of your eternal existence as the stone and dwelling there in imagination until it feels inevitable.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I am the cornerstone of my world.' Rest in that truth until it feels inevitable.
