The Inner Living Stone Temple

1 Peter 2:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 2 in context

Scripture Focus

4To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5

Biblical Context

Peter speaks of coming to Christ as to a living stone, though rejected by men; believers are living stones built into a holy spiritual house to offer spiritual sacrifices to God.

Neville's Inner Vision

The passage invites you to return to the living stone as the awareness I AM within you. Though the world may deny you, God has chosen you and esteems you precious. You and I are not mere observers; we are living stones—states of consciousness—that are joined to form a spiritual house and a holy priesthood. The “sacrifices” spoken of are the inner acts of alignment: faith over doubt, gratitude over complaint, and loving action that mirrors the divine presence. Jesus Christ serves as the channel through which this inner temple is consecrated; through the I AM within, what is offered to God is acceptable. Each belief, feeling, and choice acts as cement, binding stones into a structure where God dwells as awareness. When you inhabit this temple in imagination, doors in life align with your inner harmony, and your outer world reflects the truth of your inner stonework.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are the living stone chosen and precious in God’s sight. Feel yourself built into a spiritual house within; silently affirm, “I am the I AM; I am chosen and precious,” and let that temple-awareness saturate your day.
