Inner Healing in 1 Peter 2:24

1 Peter 2:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 2 in context

Scripture Focus

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24

Biblical Context

Jesus bore our sins in his body on the tree so that we might die to sin and live unto righteousness; by his stripes we are healed.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of sins not as external acts but as states of mind you have identified with. When the verse speaks of bearing our sins in his own body, it describes the inner act by which the old self is crucified and you awaken to a reality in which you live unto righteousness. The stripes are the emotional and energetic marks of healing you claim in consciousness—healing is not coming later, it is your present awareness. To heal is to revise your sense of self until you are one with the Christ within, the true nature that cannot be bound by sin. As you persist in this recognition, your body follows the mind, and the perception of wholeness becomes your daily experience. The invitation is simple: assume the state of being healed and righteous, and let imagination bring that state into form, here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling, I am healed and I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Hold that scene for a minute or two, and let the sense of wellness and right relation become your default, here and now.
