Enduring Conscience, Quiet Strength

1 Peter 2:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 2 in context

Scripture Focus

19For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
1 Peter 2:19

Biblical Context

It is commendable to endure grief and wrongful suffering when it comes from living in accord with a God-centered conscience. Endurance is an inner disposition, not merely a passive resignation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Endurance here is a correction of consciousness. When you claim God as the I AM within, the outer grief and the sense of being wronged are signals of your old identification. Conscience toward God is the inner alignment—the recognition that you are one with the divine presence here and now. In this state you endure not by resisting the world, but by refusing to identify with the picture it presents. If a grievance arises, revise the scene by returning to the I AM—say, 'I AM the divine presence now; all appearances bow to this consciousness.' Feeling it real means dwelling in that inner certainty until it fills the whole moment. Endurance becomes your natural response, a proof that the inner state is intact, and therefore the outer form must yield to it. What is endured is not suffering but the shift from fear to the consciousness of God within.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of God within now. When grievance arises, revise the scene by declaring, 'I AM, and I am at peace; this appearance bows to my inner truth'.
