Inner Submission, Outer Order
1 Peter 2:13-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Peter 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Peter instructs believers to submit themselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake; by doing good, they silence the ignorance of foolish men and reveal the will of God. This is not mere compliance, but a practice that proves the inner alignment between conscience and law.
Neville's Inner Vision
I see submission to every ordinance of man as the Lord’s will because I am the I AM that creates order within. The king, the governors, are channels of the same divine spirit within me; they act in the visible world as the outward echo of my inner authority. When I choose to do well and embody virtue in conduct, I am not bending to rule so much as aligning my consciousness with the truth that creates law. To silence the ignorance of foolish men I simply hold the line of well-doing—steadfast, serene, and luminous. The will of God is not found in coercive power but in the internal discipline I exercise; by living as if I am the law-keeper of my own realm, the world conforms. Their punishment or praise becomes the weather in the sky of my inner state, not a verdict on my worth. My practice is a revision of belief: I am already at peace with every ordinance, and through that inner harmony the outer order reveals itself.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling that you are the law within; see yourself responding to every ordinance with calm, grace, and clear intent. Tonight, repeat: I am the I AM that creates order, and all authorities arise from this inner ordinance.
