The Inner People of God

1 Peter 2:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 2 in context

Scripture Focus

10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:10

Biblical Context

The verse states that those once not a people become the people of God, and those who had not obtained mercy now obtain mercy.

Neville's Inner Vision

See that the words are not about outward lineage, but about the state you inhabit. Being 'not a people' is simply an old version of your consciousness; becoming 'the people of God' is the present posture you assume when you awaken to the I AM within. Mercy is not a future donation but the realization that you belong to the divine stream, already favored and included. The verse invites you to notice that the covenant of mercy is a matter of inner alignment; once you affirm yourself as the one whom God calls His, the external conditions begin to reflect that truth. To live it, you must dwell in the assumption of your true identity, feel the unity with God as your natural condition, and let imagination do the creating work. The transformation is from fear and separation to oneness and belonging, from lack to mercy's abundance, here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the state, and revise aloud: I am the people of God; I have obtained mercy. Then feel the reality in your chest as gratitude and belonging, letting the state anchor your actions today.
