Inner Fire of Faith Refined

1 Peter 1:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 1 in context

Scripture Focus

7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
1 Peter 1:7

Biblical Context

The verse proclaims that the testing of faith is more precious than gold, and through fiery trial it yields praise, honor, and glory at Christ's appearing.

Neville's Inner Vision

Do not look for flattery or external accolades, for the 'trial' is the inner pressure that reveals what you already are. Faith is a state of consciousness; the fire you feel is resistance from your old self, a crucible that burns away fear until only the I AM remains. When you are tested, you are being moved toward the recognition that the Christ within—the appearing of your true self in form—exists here and now. Each sensation of difficulty is a signal that your imagination is at work, fashioning your world in the likeness of your inward state. Therefore, treat the fire as a friendly invitation to revise your self-image, to affirm, 'I am already the praise, honor, and glory I seek.' The appearing of Christ is not distant; it is the awareness that wakes in you as you insist, in feeling and belief, that you are the living manifestation of your perfected state. Your faith is refined not by external proof, but by your deliberate inner assumption and persistence in imagining the end.

Practice This Now

Tonight, close your eyes and assume you are already living in the glory of your refined faith. Feel the gratitude as if the appearing of Christ is now present, and rest in the steady affirmation, 'I am the praise and glory already here.'
