The Enduring Inner Word

1 Peter 1:24-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 1 in context

Scripture Focus

24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
1 Peter 1:24-25

Biblical Context

Peter states that all flesh fades and human glory is temporary, while the living Word of the Lord endures forever, preached through the gospel. The contrast invites a change in focus from outer form to inner awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the verse as a mirror of consciousness. Flesh is like grass—bright and fragile—yet only the form of outward appearance. The real, the enduring Word is not out there in time but within the I AM that you are. When you fix your attention on the word that endures forever, you are choosing a state of awareness that does not age or fall away. The gospel becomes not a history to be believed but a present-tense reality you assume. Your attention creates the sense of life; therefore, to say the Word endures is to declare that your awareness persists beyond fluctuation. The 'glory of man' is merely transient image; the true splendor is the eternal principle you awaken as. By declaring I AM as the Word within, you revise perception and gently let go of the idea that change governs you. The new creation is your present experience of the Word you dwell in.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume 'I AM the Word that endures forever within me', and feel-it-real that your awareness is the unchanging reality behind all changing forms.
