Purified Souls, Fervent Love Within

1 Peter 1:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Peter 1 in context

Scripture Focus

22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
1 Peter 1:22

Biblical Context

The verse states you have purified your souls by obeying the truth through the Spirit, and you are urged to love one another with a sincere, pure heart.

Neville's Inner Vision

Purification, in this light, is a shift of consciousness, not a ritual performed elsewhere. When you obey the truth through the Spirit, you align with the enduring I AM within, and the 'brethren' become the inner states of harmony already present in you. Unfeigned love arises as you recognize your wholeness and the sense of separation fades. Faith is not begging for change but an inner acknowledgement that you have already become this state; accordingly, your thoughts, words, and deeds flow from a pure heart. As you dwell in that conviction, warmth and compassion expand, and fervent love for others becomes natural rather than strained. The Spirit’s work within you moves your desires toward acts of kindness, yet the real act is remaining in the present state of love. Thus the outward world reflects your inward purification, and you love fervently because you now inhabit the pure love you sought.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling now: 'I am purified by truth through Spirit; I love my brethren with a pure heart fervently.' Then spend a few minutes imagining a warm, unforced moment of connection with someone you call a brother or sister, letting the feeling of real love flood your chest.
