Gird Your Mind for Grace
1 Peter 1:1-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Peter 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Peter writes to the scattered believers, naming their election by grace and calling them to holy living by faith; they are kept for salvation and equipped with a lively hope through the resurrection.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your state of consciousness is the believers' calling. When Peter speaks of foreknowledge and sanctification, he names the inner discipline by which you align with the divine I AM. The 'grace unto you' is the inner atmosphere you breathe; the 'salvation ready to be revealed' is the realization of your own perfect life as you hold the vision of the end held in God. The fire of trial is the mental heat you invite to burn away doubt; as your faith is purified, praise and glory rise within you. Even though you have not seen Him, you love; though you do not see Him now, you believe, and your joy becomes unspeakable and full of glory. Gird the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope for the grace that is already being revealed in you. You are born again by the word of God, an incorruptible seed that endures forever; let that seed unfold in you as love and holy conduct.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already within grace, kept by the power of God through faith; feel that inner state as real, and let any doubt revise into trust.
