Walking Before the I Am Inner Kingdom
1 Kings 9:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage states that walking before God with integrity and obedience establishes an enduring inner throne, while turning away to other gods disrupts the inner order and sovereignty.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the words as a map of your consciousness. To 'walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness' is to dwell in a state where you are fully aware of the I AM and act from that awareness. The 'statutes and judgments' are not external laws but inner principles you hold as true: consistency of purpose, fidelity to your inner word, and the refusal to let counterfeit desires dictate your experience. When you keep them, the throne of your kingdom is established 'upon Israel'—your mental nation—forever, for the I AM never forsakes the state you maintain. But 'if ye turn from following me' and worship other gods, you loosen the inner accord; you invite distractions and misalignments that shake your perceived kingship. The deeper meaning is psychological: your outer world reflects the inner state you persist in. If you persist in the one reality—the I AM and its laws—you will find your inner throne secure, and your outer forms follow suit. The promise is not political lineage but the constancy of your inner order when you consent to align your thoughts, feelings, and actions with the truth.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare: I walk before the I AM with integrity; I keep my inner laws; I do not turn to substitutes. Feel the throne as established within you, and let your life reflect that unwavering sovereignty.
