Biblical Context
Solomon consecrates the temple court with offerings because the altar is too small, then leads a great fourteen-day feast for Israel. On the eighth day the people depart blessed and joyful, grateful to the Lord for all He has done for David and Israel.
Neville's Inner Vision
Solomon’s act of hallowing the middle of the court and filling the space with offerings is the inward act of enlarging your field of awareness. The brazen altar being too small signals that your old concepts cannot contain the fullness you now desire; you are called to enlarge the inner altar through imagination, faith, and clear intention. The seven days of festival with all Israel symbolize the complete harmonization of your inner states—gratitude, joy, expectancy, focus, devotion, and rest—woven into one atmosphere of the I AM. When the eighth day arrives and the people depart in blessing, you are invited to carry that fullness forward, knowing the Lord’s goodness has been worked into your life by your own steadfast awareness. The Presence of God is your inner I AM; covenant loyalty is continual reaffirmation of that truth. Your practice is to honor a larger inner sanctuary and to celebrate as if the fulfillment is already complete, here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and enlarge your inner court; imagine your wish already fulfilled, resting in the I AM and feeling the gratitude and joy as your natural state.
