Biblical Context
Solomon is told that if he keeps God's statutes and commandments, God will dwell among Israel and not forsake His people.
Neville's Inner Vision
Envision the house you are building as the temple of your own consciousness. The 'word of the LORD' that comes to Solomon is the inner whisper of truth within you, inviting a disciplined life of inner statutes, judgments, and commandments. When you align with that inner order—letting every decision reflect the law of your renewed self—you experience God performing His word with you: your life begins to reflect the divine pattern you chose. The promise that God will dwell among Israel becomes a present reality in your own being: the I AM, your awareness, settles in, and you feel no abandonment because your inner city has learned to keep faith with the inner law. This is not external control but an inner covenant loyalty: fidelity to the truth you choose in imagination, perception, and feeling. By abiding in that living order, you do not seek God elsewhere; you become the temple where God is present, and the sense of separation disappears as presence becomes your natural state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are the I AM dwelling in a quiet inner sanctuary. Repeat, 'I am the house in which God dwells,' imagining the walls aligning with your renewed statutes, and feel the presence become tangible now.
