Building the Inner Temple
1 Kings 6:1-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Solomon begins to build the LORD's house in the fourth year of his reign, shaping it with stones and cedar, and completes the structure. Then the LORD declares that He will dwell among Israel if they walk in His statutes and keep His commandments.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, imagine the temple you are building in your consciousness as the very state of awareness you live from. The four hundred and eighty years and the months mark the timing you choose to begin; the stone laid before it is brought into the house represents a fixed foundation formed by consistent thought, while the absence of hammer and iron speaks of a quiet, unforced preparation. The cedar beams that cover the house are your noble imaginal acts—faith, patience, gratitude—cloaking the core of I AM. The surrounding chambers and the winding stairs are the various moods and levels you allow around your central Presence, so that the wall remains sturdy and true. When you ascend to the middle chamber and then into the third, you are practicing the ascent of consciousness, from outward appearances to the quiet center. And when you affirm, in the deepest part of yourself, that you will walk in God’s statutes, the Word comes that I will dwell among you and will not forsake you. Finish the house by living from that Word, and your life will reflect the temple you have imagined.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are the builder of your inner temple. In the present tense, declare: 'I walk in the statutes of God; the Presence dwells in me now,' and feel a growing room of light filling every corner.
