Inner Rest and Temple of God
1 Kings 5:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David could not build a temple while wars surrounded him; now the LORD has given him rest on every side, and he resolves to build a house for the LORD's name.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the listener, the outward wars symbolize inner turmoil—doubts, urges to act, friction of opposing thoughts. When he declares rest on every side, the mood shifts from struggle to sovereignty. The 'house unto the name of the LORD' becomes a temple you fashion in consciousness by your imagination; the throne of David becomes the throne of your own I AM, the unwavering awareness that governs every thought. Notice that the LORD's rest precedes the plan; when the mind is peaceful, you hear the decree to build within. The inner temple is not stone but a discipline of attention, a decision to dwell in truth rather than in appearance. The 'adversaries' are images of fear and conflict you permit into attention; by ruling from the throne, you invite the divine presence to fill your being and animate your world. Thus the promise is fulfilled in you here and now: you rest in God, you choose, and you begin to dwell as the temple itself.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already the I AM seated on your inner throne; feel the rest at the center of your being, and revise every fear as dissolved in that light.
