Inner Decrees and False Justice
1 Kings 21:8-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 21 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jezebel uses forged letters in Ahab's name to condemn Naboth and have him stoned, exploiting outward authority to enforce a lie. The scene reveals how apparent law can be bent when inner judgment is missing true justice.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the tale is not about Naboth alone but about your own inner city. The forged letters, the king’s seal, and the call to a fast are forms your mind uses when it mistakes appearance for reality. The ‘elder’ and the ‘noble’ are your settled thoughts; the two ‘men of Belial’ are the inner accusers that arise when you identify with a state of lack or conflict. By signing such decrees you pretend to govern life from without, believing that justice comes from force and rank. Yet the Scripture speaks in the key of I AM: God, the awareness within, is the only true decree-maker. When you accept responsibility for your inner state, you revise the decree at its source rather than trying to correct the outcome. Naboth's death becomes a symbol of a former conscious stance you release, not a prophecy about others. By choosing to align with the inner justice of consciousness, you awaken a reality in which innocence and truth prevail.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise the decree: in the name of the I AM, declare Naboth's life and innocence. Feel that revised state as if it already happened, and watch outer events align with this inner truth.
