2Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
1 Kings 19:2

Biblical Context

Jezebel sends a death threat to Elijah, signaling fear from an external source that shakes his sense of safety.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jezebel’s message is not a threat from an external queen, but a voice in Elijah’s own consciousness warning of doom. In Neville’s terms, every scene in the Bible reveals a state of awareness: Jezebel’s name becomes an image of fear, of the belief that there exists power separate from your own I AM. Elijah’s reaction—flight and exhaustion—shows the mind yielding to that belief. The cure is not to argue with the image, but to revise the state in which you inhabit it: declare quietly, I AM that unseen Power, the sole life and safety of Elijah within me. Feel the reality that the I AM is constant, immovable, and that all “gods” that threaten are merely shifting appearances in consciousness. By assuming a new inner posture—calm, undisturbed, and all-sufficing—you dissolve the image and restore the original kingdom of peace within. The verse then becomes a map: fear is only a displaced awareness, be returned to its source through the felt presence of God I AM.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, breathe, and repeat, I AM the security of Elijah; no image of threat can overcome the presence of God within me. Visualize Jezebel’s decree dissolving as you feel the reality of your unthreatened I AM.
