Elijah's Inner Provision
1 Kings 17:1-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Elijah proclaims a drought, hides by the brook Cherith where he is fed by ravens, then goes to Zarephath where a widow sustains him with meal and oil; her son dies and Elijah prays him back to life, confirming the LORD's word.
Neville's Inner Vision
Elijah here is the I AM awakening in you. The drought represents a discounting of the inner life; Cherith is the still place in your attention where you drink from awareness; the ravens are the daily impulses of imagination that feed you when outer supply seems scarce. The move to Zarephath signals widening your field of consciousness, where a widow within you bears the breath of sustenance as you serve first to the I AM. The barrel of meal and the jar of oil that do not fail embodies the law of constant supply when you persist in the truth you carry. The sick child stands for a life-or-death belief that seems to die; Elijah's intercession and the revival show that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth, a power that revives form when you align with the I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, I am sustained by the brook of awareness. Imagine the supply never failing and feel the certainty rise within.
