Inner Reign of the I AM
1 Kings 16:28-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Omri dies and Ahab begins to reign in Samaria for twenty-two years. The verse notes that Ahab did evil in the sight of the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the seeker, Ahab is your egoic state that has enthroned itself by clinging to outward power, while Omri's fading marks the dying of a lesser consciousness. The inner kingdom, Samaria, is where you must enthrone the I AM. When the ego 'does evil in the sight of the LORD,' it is simply the misalignment of action with the divine standard—the inner standard you are, and always are, in the moment. The cure is not reform of the outer world but the revision of belief: declare that you, the I AM, reign now. Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: that the inner king rules your thoughts, desires, and decisions. In that assumption, the old ruler dissolves and a more harmonious life emerges, not by conquest but by the clarity of your awareness. You awaken to the truth that the 'twenty-two years' are the length of a state; you can end it by the simple faith that the I AM is king.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare: I am the I AM king of my inner Samaria; I reign now over every thought as it arises. Visualize the old ruler fading away and the radiant I AM taking the throne.
