Inner Reforms, Perfect Heart
1 Kings 15:12-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Asa removed the idols and even Maachah's idol, and the high places were not removed. Yet his heart remained perfect toward the LORD all his days.
Neville's Inner Vision
From Neville’s view, the narrative is not about outward purges alone but about the shift of consciousness. The removal of idols and even a respected matron's image declares that your outer world will adjust to reflect your inner decision. The 'high places' that stay are the stubborn habits and familiar patterns that do not yet command your inner state; yet the verse notes that Asa's heart remained aligned with the LORD, showing that "perfection" is a state of awareness rather than a total eradication of all appearances. In Neville's terms, the law of assumption implies you can, in present awareness, dissolve idols by consenting to a new Self that does not fear or worship them. When you insist I AM and feel the truth of that alignment, the inner King declares dominion, and even what once looked fixed (the grove, the mother-image) begins to dissolve as the new belief is felt real. The process is gradual and interior: you replace old images with the living reality of sufficiency, virtue, and faithfulness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare inwardly, 'Idols are removed from my consciousness; my heart is faithful to the LORD.' Rest in that conviction until it feels real.
