Disguise and Divine Guidance

1 Kings 14:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Kings 14 in context

Scripture Focus

5And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.
1 Kings 14:5

Biblical Context

God tells Ahijah that Jeroboam's wife will come asking for her sick son, and she will disguise herself as another woman.

Neville's Inner Vision

To me this scene is the inner drama of consciousness. The Lord speaking to Ahijah is your inner guidance—the I AM that knows what your outer self will attempt to do and speaks with exactness about it. Jeroboam’s wife embodies the many faces your surface personality wears to solicit power from life; the sick son stands for a condition you believe requires help. The forecast that she shall feign herself to be another woman is a reminder that appearances will wear masks, even as your inner state is asked to reveal itself. Yet the true message is not about the woman at the door but about the fidelity of your inner kingdom. The God who speaks is not a distant deity but the unchanging awareness within you. When you trust this internal oracle, you will not be moved by shifting forms; you will maintain covenant loyalty to the I AM and permit healing to unfold as you revise your scene with belief in your own sovereignty. The kingdom of God is at hand inside, awaiting your recognition and assent.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine your outer self stepping into your inner chamber; declare to I AM that the truth of your state is unmasked and that healing is already yours. Feel the wish fulfilled as a vivid inner sensation.
