The Inner King Unfolded
1 Kings 14:14-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 14 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text foresees a king rising to cut off Jeroboam’s house and exile Israel for idolatry. In Neville’s terms, this king is the I AM entering consciousness to correct a false state.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the thinker, this chapter does not describe a mere political omen but a shift of your inner weather. The king that is raised over Israel is the I AM, the indivisible awareness that stands above the noise of Jeroboam—the old self clinging to groves and outward rites. When the I AM takes the throne, the old house, the house of Jeroboam, is cut off not by sword but by realization: belief in separation is dissolved and the sense of a land that belongs to you—awareness of your Father's abundance—is restored. The judgment that smites Israel like a reed in the water is your moment-by-moment insistence on a new thought, a new identity, that scatters the supposed exile beyond the river, beyond limitation. The sins of Jeroboam are simply misidentifications—the habit of pretending to be less than the One. As you permit the inner king to rule in you, your inner land is reclaimed. Expect nothing but your own I AM ordering every scene to reflect divine order.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare 'I AM the king of my mind' and feel the old self dissolve as a grove is uprooted; imagine Israel’s good land returning to your awareness.
