Returning to Self: The Inner Death
1 Kings 14:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse commands Arise, go to your own house, and as you enter the city, the child shall die. It hints at a decisive turning point where external events reflect a change of inner state.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, this is not a forecast of outward events alone, but a map of consciousness. Arise denotes the awakening of awareness; going to thine own house is returning to the throne room of your I AM, the center where all possibilities are born. The city you enter represents your daily world—your habit-patterns, your familiar concerns, the stage on which your life plays. When you, in awareness, pass from agitation into the quiet of the inner citadel, the 'child'—the old limiting belief, fear, or identity—dies. Its death is not punishment but release from a former state, allowing a new state of consciousness to claim its place. The sentence warns that once you bring your attention back to your true center, the appearance of the old state will resolve. Prophecy here is intrapsychic: a decree from your own I AM that your next movement will be toward wholeness, not resistance.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In this moment, close your eyes, affirm 'I am' the presence that remains; imagine yourself rising, returning to your inner city, and declare the old story dead. Then revise by choosing a new state and feel it real for a minute.
