Read 1 Kings 13 in context

Scripture Focus

1And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.
2And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.
1 Kings 13:1-2

Biblical Context

A prophet from Judah arrives at Bethel and denounces the altar, foretelling that Josiah will rise to purge the high places and burn the bones of the priests against the altar.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, there is only one Bethel here, and the altar is the nucleus of your own thinking. The man of God who speaks is the living I AM within you, and Jeroboam's posture by the altar is the stubborn habit of worshiping image and form rather than the Reality of God in you. When he declares that a child shall be born unto the house of David -- Josiah by name -- he is naming a future state of consciousness that must arise from within your consciousness. The priests of the high places are the old mental statutes you keep, the rituals that feed only fear and pride. The bones burned upon the altar signify the death of those old beliefs when faced with the truth that you are the royal house of David, the rightful king seated in the present moment. The prophecy is not punishment but permanent shift; it is your inner law proclaiming that holiness separations inside you will dissolve into one throne of awareness, where nothing false endures.

Practice This Now

Assume the inner Josiah awakens now; revise your self-image to the kingly nature you are, and feel the purification as if it already happened.
