Inner Solomon, Inner Kingdom
1 Kings 11:41-43 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage records Solomon's remaining deeds and wisdom, his forty-year reign in Jerusalem, his death, and the succession of Rehoboam.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the chapter is not about a historical king so much as a description of a state of awareness that appears and passes within you. 'The rest of the acts and his wisdom' become the contents of the inner book you carry—the mental record of what you have consciously chosen to dwell upon. Solomon's forty years of reign signify a long, stable embodiment of discernment in your mind; a period in which your decisions are governed by royal wisdom rather than fear. When the text says he slept with his fathers and was buried, you hear the passing away of an old self-image, a habit, or belief that no longer serves the present crown you wear. The ascent of Rehoboam signals the birth of a new center of consciousness—the next state that governs your life. The city of David, Jerusalem, stands for the center of your inner kingdom; over all Israel means your entire life responding to the governing idea that you have chosen. You are not waiting for a future king; you are awakening to the I AM that rules from within, and the book of acts is already written for your now.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and revise: 'I am Solomon, I reign in Jerusalem over all Israel—my wisdom is established now for forty years.' Feel the throne within and know your inner kingdom governs all that follows.
