Inner Covenant Of The One I AM

1 Kings 11:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Kings 11 in context

Scripture Focus

2Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
1 Kings 11:2-3

Biblical Context

Solomon's heart turned away from exclusive devotion to God because he allowed many wives and their gods to influence him, violating inner unity.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner world, the 'nations' and their gods are your own diversions and belief-images that tug at your attention. Solomon’s many wives symbolize a crowded mind chasing external satisfactions, until the heart—your conscious awareness—votes for many loyalties rather than the sole I AM. The Biblical tale thus becomes a study of inner states: when you entertain competing gods, you become divided, and your original authority wanes. The remedy is not geography but revision of your inner state: decide, here and now, that the One I AM is the ruler of your inner kingdom. See all outer attractions as symbols of inner desires you can forgive and dissolve. By refusing to contract with multiple images, you restore unity, and the heart’s true direction returns to its source—the awareness that you are the I AM, not the energy spent on idols. Practice until the feeling of unity is real in your chest.

Practice This Now

For 5 minutes, close your eyes and imagine a chamber within your chest where the I AM sits as a single, radiant monarch. Quiet all other impulses, and repeat, 'I AM the sole ruler of this inner land.'
