Biblical Context
Solomon gathered a thousand and four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, stationed them in the cities and in Jerusalem. The king made silver plentiful in Jerusalem and cedars abundant in the land.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, view this scene as a map of your own inner kingdom. The chariots and horsemen are the faculties you have disciplined and drawn into service by imagination. When the mind says, 'I will appoint these powers to the cities of my desire,' it is the inner arrangement of consciousness being organized to sustain a state of movement. The thousand and four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen symbolize the exact number of ideas, feelings, and images you permit to run your life, stationed as watchmen in the cities and at the gate of your daily experience. The abundant silver in Jerusalem and the cedar trees in the vale signify wealth of awareness appearing as tangible surroundings; what you value becomes present as the environment you walk in. These verses are not about politics but about the inner infrastructure you are building now through belief. If you can imagine the king’s wealth as your own, you must also imagine the 'pride' or self-exaltation that can accompany such power, and release it into quiet trust in the I AM. The prosperity of the outer is the visible testimony of the inner condition, maintained by continual assumption.
Practice This Now
Practice: Close your eyes and assume the state, 'I AM wealth and provision now.' Feel the abundance as present in your inner city—see the silver stones and cedar trees in your mind's Jerusalem—and let that image bring calm conviction into your day.
