King and Damsel Within
1 Kings 1:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
A beautiful damsel serves the king, but the king does not know her.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the verse lies a simple scene and a deeper invitation. The damsel's beauty and service are energies arising in your consciousness, sent to the king—your I AM—as offerings of attention and care. Yet the king does not know her, symbolizing that, in your current state, the energy is not recognized, permitted, or integrated by awareness. In Neville's terms, the entire scene is a map of your inner state: you may experience longing, purity, and humility as a noble impulse, but until you assume, feel, and accept that the I AM knows and approves of that energy, it remains unconsummated, unactualized in its relation to your life. The remedy is not to change appearances but to shift your inner state: see yourself as already known, named, and embraced by the I AM; act from the sense that you are dignity-in-motion, deserving of intimate communion with your true self. When you align with that awareness, the energy flows, the vow of unconsummated longing becomes a realized relation within consciousness, and you rise in harmony with purity and humility.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Assume the I AM now recognizes and cherishes the energy within you. Revise the scene in your mind to 'the king knows her,' and feel the realization as real.
